Qinlin Yang (b. 1992) is a Chinese artist who lives and works in London, UK.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Art Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and earned a master’s degree in Illustration and Book Arts from Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom.
Her practice explores the emotional and psychological transformations within migratory experiences, focusing on identity, belonging, and feminist narratives within diasporic contexts. Rooted in her years of living across different cultural environments as an immigrant, her work reflects a deep engagement with how personal experience and collective migration histories evolve amid the forces of deglobalization. She connects individual memory with broader social landscapes, incorporating fragments of recollection, personal objects, and symbolic imagery into temporally shifting spaces. Through metaphor and reconstructed scenes, she examines how the pressures and emotional ruptures of cross-cultural existence shape memory and identity.
